    The replacement tree(s) species must be listed on the Borough of Kenilworth's list of approved tree species. The planted tree shall meet the minimum size requirement as designated by the Borough of Kenilworth and may not be seeds or saplings.

    The attached list provides all tree species and sizes approved to be planted to replace Borough-owned trees.  This list is maintained by the Kenilworth Department of Public Works and is also available in the Borough Clerk's Office.

    Attached is a complete copy of the Borough Code Chapter 185 Trees.  Please refer to this document for all requirements surrounding the treatment and removal of Borough-owned trees.

47. Acknowledgement Statements
    1. You have been provided with a complete copy of the Borough Code, Chapter 185 Trees as an attachment to this application.
    2. You understand that if this request is approved you must submit a bond in the amount of $1,000 per tree.
    3. Your bond will be returned to you once the tree is removed and the replacement tree is planted as per the Borough Code and to the satisfaction of the Superintendent of Public Works.
    4. Where stump grinding is required, the grinding and new planting shall be completed within 6 weeks of the date of written approval. 
    5. No tree standing over ten (10) feet tall shall be cut down or removed by anyone other than a professional licensed by the State of New Jersey and the Board of Tree Experts.
    6. The licensed professional you choose to use must sign an indemnity statement and provide the Borough with a Certificate of Insurance naming the Borough of Kenilworth as an additional insured and providing the minimum insurance requirements.
